Miss Kansas 1966 - Deborah Irene Bryant

DeborahBryant1966aAfter graduating in the top ten of her high school graduating class, Deborah went on to Christian College on a full academic scholarship, during which time she represented Kansas in Atlantic City in the 1966 Miss America Pageant. After her year of service as Miss America, Deborah continued her education as an English major at the University of Kansas, graduating Cum Laude Phi Beta Kappa. During her year of service, Deborah spoke in support of "Project Concern" which provided medical support to undeveloped countries.

Deborah remains active in community service for numerous charitable projects. She was a member of the Mesa Desert Club, which provides scholarships to qualified needy high school graduates, and was also a past member of the Phoenix Junior League. Deborah currently resides in Arizona with husband, Brent. Together they have five children and four grandchildren. She assists her daughter Kristin in the operation of a unique retail store, Domestic Bliss, in historic downtown Mesa.

Deborah was nineteen years old when she won the crown. She is five feet seven inches tall. Her hair is brown and her eyes are blue gray. She was very active in community service and was a part of different charities. Deborah currently lives in Arizona.
