Time certainly does fly, doesn’t it? It’s hard to believe it has already been six months since pageant week in Pratt. It has been an amazing journey with many new exciting (and growing) opportunities! Between school, MKOT events, church activities and dance, life has definitely not been dull. I just finished my first semester at school where I kept busy with National Honor Society, theatre and choir. I had a wonderful semester, and can’t believe my junior year is already halfway done!

This past fall also brought several MKOT events and appearances. Princess parties are something new in which the organization helps some adorable, little princess celebrate her birthday. We teach the girls a dance, do some modeling, decorate crown cookies, play “princess games” and get to know each other a little bit. They are so much fun and the girls have all really enjoyed the parties! I have also been able to attend and perform at several locals this year. Thank you so much to all the local directors for the invitations as it was an honor to be a part of your organized and wonderful pageants! In November, I was able to speak and perform at WSU’s Dance Marathon where they ended up raising a little over $30,000 for Children’s Miracle Network. Also in November, I was asked to emcee the Wichita Sing-Off featuring many spectacular barbershop groups and the Butler Headliners.

I am looking forward to going to Vegas to support my “big sister” Sloane in January. She has been working so hard and I am so excited to see her shine on that stage! Everyone be sure to watch the final night, January 12, on ABC. Please also take a moment to vote for Sloane in the People’s Choice Award at www.missamerica.org! I am also excited to see all my other MKOT sisters. I actually ran into Oklahoma’s OT a couple weekends ago at a dance convention, and I can’t wait to be reunited with everyone else!

I hope everyone is getting into the Christmas spirit! Last weekend, we had a MKOT Christmas party with some of our local Miss and Teens and directors. It was a wonderful night, and a HUGE thank you to Lisa Ronen for making the delicious food and for opening her home to all of us! And thank you to the Butler Smorgaschords for making an appearance as well. I wish everyone a very, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
