The countdown is on. It is crazy to think that in less than a month I will be crowning a new Miss Kansas’ Outstanding Teen. It has been such an amazing journey, and these past few months have been as crazy as ever, but so incredibly worth it.

These past few months have provided several exciting experiences for me as Miss Kansas’ Outstanding Teen. The first was going to Miss America to cheer on our wonderful Miss Kansas, Sloane Lewis. What an amazing trip. Sloane represented Kansas beautifully and rocked every area of the competition. While I was there, I had the chance to perform on the Miss America stage with my Miss America’s Outstanding Teen sisters. Wow! What an exciting privilege and was so wonderful to see all the girls again.

Time certainly does fly, doesn’t it? It’s hard to believe it has already been six months since pageant week in Pratt. It has been an amazing journey with many new exciting (and growing) opportunities! Between school, MKOT events, church activities and dance, life has definitely not been dull. I just finished my first semester at school where I kept busy with National Honor Society, theatre and choir. I had a wonderful semester, and can’t believe my junior year is already halfway done!

Over these past few months I have truly learned that there is no place like home! From appearances, to my send-off party, and finally to nationals, I have been kept busy, but as I look back on these past two months, I would not change a thing. First of all, thank you so much to everyone who has supported me throughout my journey. All of your encouraging words, cards, and sweet gifts have kept me going. I am so thankful for each and every one of you, and I feel extremely blessed to have you in my life!

StevieMack100x125 Wow! I cannot believe I am actually writing my first blog as Miss Kansas’ Outstanding Teen 2012. The past few weeks have been a whirlwind, but already so rewarding. As I look back on the Miss Kansas week, I can’t help but smile! I loved getting to know the fourteen other beautiful, talented Teen contestants, the adorable Sunflower Princesses, as well as some of the Miss contestants. I would like to offer HUGE THANKS to the amazing community of Pratt. How awesome to have such a welcoming, friendly community that just opens their doors, homes, streets and hearts to all of us.
