2012 Miss Kansas Pageant Week

It is crazy to think that just two days ago I was honored with the title of Miss Kansas Outstanding Teen 2011. My goal heading into the competition was to shine God’s light and love and enjoy the companionship of thirteen other incredible young ladies. Never did I imagine that I would win. I am excited to begin partnering with the Miss Kansas Outstanding Teen team.

I am looking forward to raising awareness and funds for the Children’s Miracle Network and furthering my platform, “Stranger Danger: The Importance of Internet Safety.” The Miss America Outstanding Teen Organization is an incredible system. I am honored to embody it and its morals for the next year as its Kansas representative! I would also like to give out a couple of shout outs to those who have meant and mean so much to me! I would not be where I am today and would not BE who I am today without your unfailing love and support!

One humongous shout out goes to my family! Mom; You inspire me to grow day by day. You have taught me that true beauty comes from within. God measures beauty differently from the world and His design is the right design. (1 Peter 3: 3-4)  It is because of your patience that I know that God has great plans for me, and I need “…only to be still.” (Exodus 14:14) Dad; I love you with all of my heart! From you I have learned the importance of a kind word. Thank you for teaching me that, you never know who you might touch, so accept and uplift all. Matt; I could not ask for a better big brother! I am so proud of you in all of your musical achievements. If ever someone from Broadway would make a trip to the Little Apple I am afraid they would snatch you up in a heartbeat. Your voice, humor, and all around uplifting personality impacts so many. I am proud to call you my big brother!

Finally, I send out a jubilant shout out to the Ronen family. I look forward to spending a year of growth with you! I am lucky to be blessed with amazing people who I have so much to learn from!  I trust you with all of my heart. Your love, compassion, and support in just this small amount of time have already impacted me. Thank you!

I plan to use all 59 days that I have before I depart for Orlando, Florida as opportunities to reach out and make a difference.  As Edward Everett Hale said, “I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do.”

Internet Tip: Proverbs 22:1 says, “A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.”  It is fun to update a status or write on a friend’s wall! But be cautious of what you write. The internet is open access. Anyone can be viewing what you post, not just your friend. Your words reflect upon you and your “name”.  Make sure they are reflecting who you want to be remembered and known as!

God Bless!
