DECEMBER 2003 UPDATE
WOW . . .LEMON PARK LIGHTS
WOW! One word describes it all.
For a city girl who has never been in Pratt for the holidays, WOW clearly
defines my first look at the Lemon Park Lights. Deb Goyen and the
City of Pratt have just done an extraordinary job with the array of lights
and decorations. One lap around Lemon park can get anyone excited
about the holidays.
Driving slowly, very slowly, I loved
all the various ornaments, assorted lights and detailed decorations. The
elves are adorable, especially the larger ones about three-fourths around
the park. The animals are so life-like, and I really liked the
creativity around the pond. The reflection of the dragons on the
water immediately grabbed my attention. After my second lap around
(which is a requirement), I think I finally saw everything in its fullest
light.
My favorite of all the decorations had to
be the hanging strands of white lights. I felt like I was in an
enchanted forest. I wanted to try to re-create the same thing at my
home in Lenexa, but I don't really have the ladder needed. I guess
that it is best to leave this beauty in Pratt.
Now that I have seen it all, I have just
one idea. Pratt needs to add a clear lighted crown to the mix of
holiday lights to signify the pageant that you all are so wonderful to
support. Maybe I'm just a little bias, but I think it comes with the
job.
WOW. The Lemon Park lights are
beautiful. EVERYONE ENJOY!
